Meet Lexi: what to delegate on day one
How to open Lexi, how much freedom to give it, and the first jobs worth handing over once your mailbox is connected.
Last updated
Lexi is the AI co-worker inside your workspace. It reads your CRM, your email and meetings, and does work in them: looking things up, drafting, creating tasks, updating records. Think of it as a colleague you brief in plain language.
Lexi works best once your mailbox is connected, because that is where most of your client history lives. See Connect Gmail or Outlook, and Google Calendar first if you have not.
Open Lexi
There are three ways in.
- Choose Lexi at the top of the left rail for the full-page chat, with your past conversations on the left.
- Press ⌘/ on a Mac or Ctrl+/ on Windows to open Lexi as a panel over whatever you are doing. Press Esc to tuck it away.
- On a contact, company, deal, meeting or task, choose Ask Lexi or use the quick questions in Lexi's panel. They already know which record you are on.
Press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) for the command palette, which is separate from Lexi.
Choose how active Lexi should be
The first time Lexi opens for your workspace it introduces itself with Hi, I'm Lexi and asks How active should I be?
| Setting | What Lexi does |
|---|---|
| Minimal | Only when you ask. Morning briefings still arrive. |
| Balanced | Adds smart automations for follow-ups and stale deals. |
| Proactive | Qualifies new contacts, researches, follows up and re-engages without being asked. |
Balanced is selected by default. You can change your mind later; nothing here is permanent.
A second setting controls whether Lexi checks with you before it changes data: Ask first confirms before changing any data, Balanced acts freely and confirms risky changes, Autopilot works without asking. Lexi shows the current one in its sidebar, and you change it under Autonomy in the Tasks tab of Lexi. Only workspace admins can change it.
To pause Lexi for the whole workspace, a workspace admin can choose Disable Lexi under Settings → Lexi AI.
First jobs to hand over
Start with things you can check in a minute.
- Ask for a pipeline check. Type "Run a pipeline health check". Lexi lists stale deals and what to do about each.
- Prepare for tomorrow's meeting. On the Meetings page, choose Prep for next meeting. For a conference, open the event and choose Event prep brief.
- Draft a follow-up. After a call, open the contact and ask Lexi to draft a follow-up email. Lexi writes the draft from your history with that person.
- Research a person. On a contact, choose Research this person for recent news and background.
- Log a meeting by email. Forward the email to your Lexi address (see the Email Lexi card in Settings → Email & Calendar) and Lexi creates the contacts, deal and tasks it finds.
Lexi can make mistakes, so check names, dates and amounts before you rely on them.
What happens next
If you chose Balanced or Proactive, Lexi starts to suggest follow-ups on its own. Lexi also sends a daily briefing, starting the morning after your first setup. Once you trust it, move on to Lexi skills for patent search and prospecting, or message Lexi from Teams, Slack, WhatsApp or Telegram.
