Run a 10 minute weekly BD meeting for your law firm
A fixed ten minute agenda for the weekly partner meeting, run live from the dashboard and three questions to Lexi, so it ends in decisions.
Last updated
Run the meeting from LeadLex instead of from slides. Spend two minutes on the pipeline strip, three on stalled deals from Lexi's health check, three on overdue and suggested tasks, and two on decisions. Everything is read live, so nobody prepares a report.
The meeting is only worth ten minutes if the data is current. That is a habit for the week, not for the meeting.
Steps
1. Fix the time and the screen
Pick one slot a week and one person who drives. Open the dashboard on the shared screen, and switch it to Team. Glance at the Client Retention card before the meeting starts.
2. Minute 0 to 2: read the pipeline strip
Open Pipeline. The strip across the top shows Pipeline total, Weighted, Closing this Q, Hot deals, At risk (deals past their stage SLA) and Won YTD. Say what changed since last week, in one sentence. See Deals and pipelines for matters.
3. Minute 2 to 5: stalled deals
Ask Lexi for a pipeline health check. It lists stale deals and what to do about each. For every deal, the owner says one of three things: next step with a date, move to lost, or hand over.
4. Minute 5 to 8: tasks
Open Tasks and filter to Overdue. If the Lexi strip above the list shows tasks Lexi thinks you should create, choose Review, then Add task or Skip for each one. See Tasks, notes and follow-ups.
5. Minute 8 to 10: decisions
Write each decision as a task with an owner and a due date, in the meeting. Do not write minutes. The tasks are the minutes.
6. Between meetings, let Lexi do the preparation
If your workspace chose Balanced or Proactive when Lexi first opened, it flags stale deals and suggests follow-ups on its own. The daily briefing arrives at every level. Admins can enable the Stalled deal nudge task rule, which gives the owner a high priority task when an open deal has not been updated for 30 days by default. Any edit to the deal resets the count. Admins can add the team's chat channel, so Lexi answers questions in Teams or Slack. See Lexi on Teams, Slack, WhatsApp and Telegram.

FAQ
How do you run a weekly BD meeting for a law firm?
Fix a ten minute agenda: pipeline changes, stalled deals, overdue tasks and decisions. Read everything live from the system and turn every decision into a task with an owner and a date.
Do all partners need a LeadLex seat to attend?
Only people who use the data need a seat. A partner without one can still join the meeting and give decisions, which someone enters as tasks.
What if the data is out of date?
Then the meeting finds that out, which is useful. Connect mailboxes and calendars so activity logs itself, and set a rule that a deal with no next step is read out first.
Can Lexi run the meeting for us?
Lexi prepares: it lists stale deals and suggests next steps. The partners decide.
