Find prospects with Prospector and the IP registers
Search for the right people at the right companies, and use public register filings to see who is filing, who has counsel and who may need it.

Prospector is where you look for new clients. It has two ways in. People by profile finds individuals by job title, industry and location. Register activity starts from public filings and shows which companies are filing and who represents them.
Open Prospector in the left rail. It carries a Pro badge and runs on credits.
Search for people by profile
- Open Prospector.
- Describe who you want in plain language, for example "Heads of IP at Pharma Companies in Germany", and start the search. Or pick a template under Quick Start: IP Decision Makers, General Counsel, Recently Funded Startups or Corporate Legal Teams.
- Narrow the results with Filters: job titles, seniority, industry, company size, location and exclusions. The number on the button shows how many are active.
- Refine with Lexi by typing in Refine with Lexi..., or open Wizard to be guided through it.
- Select the people you want and use the action bar: Save to Network, Add to List, Export CSV or Enroll in Campaign for people already saved.
LeadLex describes the search as covering 270M+ contacts in 480+ industries.
To start a new search, choose New Search. Searches you want to repeat can be saved. They appear under Saved Searches, and you can ask to be notified when new prospects match.
Credits and unlocking contact details
A new search costs credits, and viewing more pages of the same search does not. Cached pages cost nothing extra, and the app tells you when a result came from cache. If you run out, you see "Not enough credits".
Results show a person's profile first. To reveal contact details, choose Unlock and pick Email, Phone or Both, or use Unlock Emails and Unlock Phones for a selection. A new search costs 1 credit. Unlocking Email or Phone costs 1 credit, and Both costs 2. Credits are shared across your workspace, and how many you have depends on your plan.
Use the IP registers
Switch the page to Register activity. The toggle sits under the page title, next to People by profile.
Register activity is switched on per workspace, so it is not available to every workspace. If your workspace does not have it, the toggle does not appear.
The register data currently covers the EPO and EUIPO. Coverage grows, and the current status of every register is on the IP solutions page.
- Choose the asset class: Trade marks or Patents.
- Choose the Scope. My network and events checks the companies already in your CRM, including those from your events, against the register. Whole register searches all filers, and it is only available where it has been switched on for your workspace. While it is off, the page says "Whole register is off while the professional-rules check is open."
- For patents, start from a ready-made play, or filter yourself.
The patent plays are:
| Play | What it shows |
|---|---|
| New filers in your field | Companies that just filed patents in your technology |
| Self-filers, no counsel | Applicants filing with no representative on record |
| On a competitor's book | Applicants represented by another firm |
| Lapse risk | Patents recently lapsed or ceased |
| Just granted | Applicants whose patents were just granted |
Each filer shows recent filings and the counsel on record. A Who represents them card lists the representatives named in the register. Inventors and named contacts on the register appear as context. To reach the IP decision-makers at a company, open People by profile from the company row.
Add filers to your CRM
- Select the companies you want.
- Choose to add them. You can Tag prospects and Attach patent context, so the filing travels with the record.
- Open the company later and its IP Portfolio tab shows the public IP records. Filing alerts start after you confirm the owner.
A register fact is public information about a filing, not a verified relationship. Check who you are contacting before you reach out.
