Delete records, erase a person or close your LeadLex workspace
How deleting a contact, company or deal works in LeadLex, when to use GDPR erasure instead, and how an admin deletes the whole workspace.
Last updated
Deleting a contact, company or deal in LeadLex is permanent. There is no trash folder and no restore. To remove a person and everything about them after a data request, a workspace admin uses Erase personal data (GDPR) on the contact instead, and to close the firm's account, an admin deletes the workspace from Settings → Team.
Export what you want to keep first. See Export your data to CSV.
Delete a contact, company or deal
| Record | Where | What it says |
|---|---|---|
| Contact | Menu in the contact header, Delete Contact | "This will permanently delete name. This action cannot be undone." |
| Company | Menu in the company header, Delete company | "This will not delete related contacts." |
| Deal | Deal action bar, Delete deal… | "Activity history will remain in the audit log." |
Confirm, and the record is gone for everyone in the workspace. A copy stays in the audit log until the Activity Log retention period removes it.
Admins can delete several companies at once: select them on the Companies tab of Network and choose Delete. Bulk delete is not available for contacts.
For a duplicate, use Merge instead of delete.
Erase a person's data after a GDPR request
Only admins see this option.
- Open the person's contact record.
- Open the menu in the header and choose Erase personal data (GDPR).
- Read the list of what will be removed, type ERASE and choose Erase permanently.
Erasure removes the contact together with their notes, tasks, activity, event attendance, campaign enrolments, emails and LinkedIn conversations that involve only them, and their audit-log copies. Shared notes, meetings and deals stay, with this person taken out. LeadLex logs that an erasure happened, with counts only. See Security, data location and GDPR.
Delete your own login
The Delete Account button on your profile page does not delete anything yet; it tells you to contact support. Write to lexi@leadlex.com from the address you sign in with. When LeadLex deletes a login, it removes the mailbox and calendar connection and the Lexi conversations. Records the person created stay, shown under their name as a former member.
If you only want someone to stop using LeadLex, an admin can remove them from the workspace under Settings → Team. See Roles and permissions.
Delete the whole workspace
This deletes every contact, company, deal, note, meeting and task in the workspace, and every setting, for all members. It cannot be undone.
- Open Settings → Team and scroll to Company Settings.
- Under Danger Zone, choose Delete Company Account.
- Read the list, type DELETE COMPANY and choose Delete Company Permanently.
LeadLex deletes everything in one step. If anything fails, nothing is deleted and you see "Failed to delete the workspace. Nothing was deleted." Members keep their logins, without a workspace.
Deleting the workspace is separate from billing. You manage your subscription under Settings → Billing & Usage; see Plans, billing and seats.
What happens next
If you are handling a deletion request for a client, keep a note of the date and who asked. The erasure itself leaves only counts behind.
