Follow up after a legal conference within 24 hours
Use Conference mode to capture everyone you meet, then work the wrap-up list the next morning so every conversation gets a follow-up while it is still warm.

To follow up within 24 hours, set the event up in LeadLex before you travel, switch on Conference mode while you are there so every contact you add is linked to the event, and filter the Wrap-up phase the next morning by outcome. Then create follow-up tasks for the whole group in one action and let Lexi draft the emails.
Steps
1. Create the event and add the attendees you expect
Open Events, choose New Event, enter the name and start date, and add attendees with Add Attendees (import a list or a CSV). In Prep, set a priority and assign a teammate to each person so two colleagues do not chase the same contact. Full steps are in Conference mode.
2. Brief yourself before the first session
Open Lexi's panel on the event and choose Event prep brief, or ask Lexi who on your attendee list you already know. Do this on the train, not in the lift.
3. Switch on Conference mode when you arrive
Choose Conference Mode in the top bar of the event. A banner reads Adding contacts to: and the event name. Anyone you create or import now goes to the event's list.
4. Capture as you go
Use the round action button: Mark met, Log meeting, Add note, Create deal and Add attendee. One line per conversation is enough. Write what they asked for, not who they are.
5. Sort the day in the evening
Open Live for the timeline of the day's meetings. If a workspace admin has switched on the evening team note under Settings → Lexi AI → Preferences, Lexi sends the team a summary of meetings held and who owes which follow-up. It is off by default.
6. Work the Wrap-up list the next morning
Open Wrap-up. Filter attendees by outcome: Deal created, Follow-up needed, Nurture or No action. Select the Follow-up needed group and choose Bulk-assign follow-ups, pick the teammate and add a note. LeadLex creates one follow-up task per person, with your note as the task title and no due date, so give each task a due date.
7. Draft and send the follow-ups
Ask Lexi to draft one email per person from your notes. Edit, send, and switch Conference mode off from the same top-bar button.
Lexi prompts
Draft follow-up emails for everyone I met at ILTACON 2026 who is marked Follow-up needed. Use my notes from each conversation, keep each under 90 words, and offer one concrete next step.
Extract action items from this event and group them by owner.
Who from the ILTACON 2026 attendee list did I not get to speak to, and which of them are at companies we already act for?
Write a one paragraph summary of this event for the partners' meeting: people met, deals opened, follow-ups owed.
Template to set up
| Item | Setting |
|---|---|
| Event name | Event, city and year, for example "ILTACON 2026" |
| Event list | Created with the event, type Event. Conference mode adds new contacts to it |
| Priority rule | High for existing clients and named targets, Medium for the rest |
| Note format | "Who, what they asked for, what I promised" |
| Follow-up deadline | A task due the morning after the last session |
| Evening team note | An admin enables it under Settings → Lexi AI → Preferences if more than one colleague attends |
| Task rule | Admins can enable New event contact: post-event note under Settings → Task rules. Enable it before the event. It fires only for contacts created from the event and is due in 3 days by default, so set Due in to 1 day to match the 24 hour goal |
How to measure it
- Capture rate. People met divided by people on the attendee list.
- 24 hour rate. Contacts with a follow-up task created or a message sent within one day of the event, against people marked Follow-up needed.
- Deals created. The Deal created group in Wrap-up.
- Event report. The Report phase shows the funnel and the key numbers, and you can share it as a read-only page with someone who has no LeadLex seat.
FAQ
How do you follow up after a legal conference within 24 hours?
Capture each conversation in Conference mode during the event, then use the Wrap-up phase the next morning to create a follow-up task for each person in one action. Lexi drafts the emails from your notes.
Does Conference mode work for every person on the team?
It is switched on per person. Each colleague turns it on for themselves, and their new contacts go to the same event.
Can I share the results with a partner who does not use LeadLex?
Yes. The Report phase has a share option that creates a read-only page. You choose how long the link lasts.
Will Lexi email the people I met automatically?
No. Lexi drafts, you decide what is sent. Check names and details before you send, because Lexi can make mistakes.
