Re-engage a dormant client

Three emails for clients who have gone quiet. None of them sells. The first checks in and names one change that touches their business, the second asks a specific question, and the third offers coffee when you are in their city.

  1. Day 0
    Email 1

    Catching up

    Hi {{first_name}},

    We last worked together on [matter], and I realised it has been some time since we spoke. How are things at {{company}}?

    [One relevant change since then, in one or two sentences: a new law, a ruling or a deadline that touches their business.]

    If any of it is on your desk, I would be glad to have a short call.

    Best regards,
    {{sender_name}}
  2. Day 7
    Email 2, wait 7 days

    A quick question on [topic]

    Hi {{first_name}},

    One question I meant to ask: is [specific issue] something your team is handling in house this year, or would outside support help?

    Either way, I am happy to share what we are seeing elsewhere in [sector].

    Best regards,
    {{sender_name}}
  3. Day 21
    Email 3, wait 14 days

    Coffee in [month]?

    Hi {{first_name}},

    I will be in [city] in [month]. If you have half an hour, I would enjoy catching up over coffee.

    Best regards,
    {{sender_name}}

Merge fields used

{{first_name}}
The contact's first name. If it is missing, the email says "there".
{{sender_name}}
Your name, as the person sending.
{{company}}
The contact's company. Fill in Company for everyone you add first, or edit that sentence: if it is missing, the email says "How are things at your company?".

Set it up by hand

A short copy and paste job in the app.

  1. Find the clients first. In Network, open Sort, choose Last contacted and set Direction so the longest-silent contacts come first, and check the order in the list. Add the ones you choose to a list.
  2. Open Campaigns and choose New Campaign. Campaigns is marked Beta in the sidebar.
  3. Choose Start from scratch. LeadLex creates a draft campaign.
  4. Create one email step per email below, using Add step for each new one. Paste the subject into Subject line and the text into the body, and set Wait before sending to the number of days shown.
  5. Replace every word in square brackets with your own detail. Leave the merge fields in double braces as they are; they fill in per contact.
  6. Add the contacts from your list. On the list, select the contacts, choose Email, then pick your campaign in Add Contacts to Campaign.
  7. Read each email once more, then choose Start Sending. Emails go out from your connected mailbox, and anyone who replies leaves the sequence.

LeadLex does not import templates yet, so you copy this one in yourself. Nothing here changes your workspace until you do.

Questions

About this template.

  • Every contact shows the email and meeting history LeadLex has matched from connected mailboxes and calendars. Sort Network by Last contacted, with the longest-silent contacts first, and build a list from the result.

  • Yes. A real reply from the contact ends the sequence for them, whichever step they answered. Automatic out-of-office messages do not.

  • Not yet. Copy each email from this page into a new campaign and follow the steps.
