A skill is a specific thing Lexi knows how to do beyond chatting about your CRM, such as searching a patent register or finding people who match a profile. Skills are built by LeadLex. Some are always on, some you switch on, and a few depend on your plan.

For the full and current list, see [Integrations](/integrations) on the website, or the Skills tab in your workspace.

## See and manage skills

1. Open **Settings → Lexi AI** and select the **Skills** tab.
2. Browse the list or use **Search skills...**. The filters are **All skills**, **Active**, **Available**, **Outreach** and **Research**.
3. Select a skill to read what it does, which tools it gives Lexi and where its data comes from.
4. Workspace admins can toggle skills on or off. Skills marked **Always on** cannot be switched off. A skill that needs a higher plan shows **Upgrade to Pro** or **Upgrade to Enterprise**. Skills that are not released yet show **Coming soon** or an expected quarter.

Skills are grouped as **Built-in (always on)**, **Legal Intelligence** and **Premium Add-ons**.

## EPO patent search

Searches the European Patent Office register. You can look up patents by keyword, applicant, inventor or IPC classification code, and follow a patent family across jurisdictions. LeadLex describes the coverage as 130M+ European patents.

Ask Lexi in plain language. For example:

- "Which patents has Nordlicht GmbH filed at the EPO in the last year?"
- "Who are the applicants in IPC class H01M this quarter?"

In the Skills tab this capability is called **IP Registers**. It also covers EUIPO trade marks. Lexi cannot write register results onto a company or contact for you. After an answer she can offer a next step, such as drafting outreach, logging a deal or adding the company to a filing watch list.

Which registers are included is set in one place and described in [Find prospects with registers](/help/business-development/find-prospects-with-registers).

## Prospector

Prospector finds people at companies that match a profile, such as in-house counsel, general counsel or patent managers. LeadLex describes it as a search across 270M+ contacts in 480+ industries.

You can open it from **Prospector** in the left rail, or ask Lexi to start a search. See [Find prospects with registers](/help/business-development/find-prospects-with-registers) for the full walkthrough. Prospector carries a **Pro** badge in the left rail and uses credits.

## Conflict check

The Conflict Check skill screens a potential client or matter against the relationships already in your workspace, so you spot a conflict before you take the work on. It is listed as new.

Inside a deal, you record the outcome on the **Conflict** tab (**Cleared**, **Pending** or **Not run**), and admins can require a cleared check before a deal moves past a stage you choose. See [Deals and pipelines](/help/crm-basics/deals-and-pipelines).

When you ask Lexi to run it, the skill searches the contacts, companies and deals in your workspace for names that match or look similar, and returns a report with direct matches, possible matches and related parties. It only searches your own CRM data. It does not query outside conflict databases, and it does not change the status on the deal's **Conflict** tab. Workspace admins can switch it on or off in the Skills tab.

Lexi's check is a screening aid. The decision to clear a conflict stays with your firm.

## What happens next

Switch on the skills you want, then ask Lexi for what you need in your own words.
