You import contacts from your mailbox under **Settings → Email & Calendar**: expand the connected account, choose **Configure**, then **Import contacts**. Connect the account first, and make sure its **Contacts** switch is on.

1. Open **Settings** and choose **Email & Calendar**.
2. Expand the connected Google or Microsoft account.
3. Choose **Configure**.
4. Choose **Import contacts**. **Your Contacts** lists your address book, and **Discover More** finds people you have emailed, with a **Min emails** filter.
5. Tick the people you want, optionally pick a list, and choose **Import**.

Importing contacts is separate from syncing email. Syncing email attaches messages to people already in your CRM. Importing adds the people themselves.

## Which route to use

| You have | Use |
|---|---|
| A connected Gmail or Outlook account | **Import contacts** on the account |
| A spreadsheet from another tool | **Network → Add Contact → Import CSV** |
| A HubSpot account | The HubSpot connector |

For the spreadsheet route, see [Import contacts and companies from CSV or HubSpot](/help/getting-started/import-contacts-and-companies).

## After the import

Anyone already in LeadLex with the same email address is skipped. Imported contacts get the tag **Email Import**.
