An API key is limited to 500 calls a day. The MCP connection that lets Claude or ChatGPT work with LeadLex allows 60 calls a minute, and it is included on every plan.

| | Limit | Where it applies |
|---|---|---|
| API key | 500 calls a day | Each key |
| MCP connection | 60 calls a minute | Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants |

## What to do when you hit a limit

- **API key.** Space the calls across the day, or batch the work into fewer calls.
- **MCP.** Wait a minute. A long request that makes many small calls reaches 60 faster than one broad question.

## Who sets these up

Only workspace admins create API keys. See [Create an API key](/help/ai-and-api/create-an-api-key). To connect an AI assistant, see [Connect Claude or ChatGPT to LeadLex](/help/ai-and-api/connect-claude-or-chatgpt).

## Credits are separate

These limits count calls. Credits count AI work. A call that triggers an AI action also uses credits. See [Credits: what costs what](/help/account/credits-what-costs-what).
